Our Modern Lodge is finished!

Wow!  This house looks fantastic!  If you read any of our prior posts on this house then you might remember that our renovation plan was to make everything new – and that’s exactly what we did!  Everything inside and out is new, the only feature of the house that we were able to save was the tongue and groove, cedar beamed ceiling, they just don’t build houses like this anymore.

We gave this house a new roof, new siding, tons of new windows (the original house did not have this many windows), new landscaping, new electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and every single finish inside the house is new, custom and high-end!

This house has a very unique floor plan, way ahead of it’s time when it was originally built; the main level is one huge room that includes the family area, kitchen, dining area, foyer and two very large bedrooms – each with their own bathroom.  There is also a laundry/mudroom and half bath on this level.  We decked out the kitchen with shaker style, white painted maple cabinets, a 36″ dual fuel pro style range, apron front stainless steel sink, french door refrigerator, microwave drawer and our trademark concrete countertops in dark walnut.  As with all of our houses there is also a natural stone backsplash, under cabinet lighting and pot filler

The terrace level has essentially the same floor plan with an open area that includes a wet bar, dining area (a pub table would look great there!), family area, sauna, full bath and two equally large, light filled bedrooms.  There’s also tons of storage on this level.  We stained, sealed and polished the concrete floors and they add tons of character to the space.  We custom built a ramp sink for the bath down here – you can be sure that NO ONE else has this sink in their house!

Did I mention that the garage is a drive thru?  Well, it is!  Who wants to back out of their garage?  We added 2 new doors and openers, so you can drive in through one door and out through the other.  We also cleaned up the ivy and added tons of beautiful new landscaping.

We hit a few snags along the way, but we’re finally finished and this house truly is one of kind.
